01 / Licence holders

Curaçao licence holders: who operates the casino?

The name above a casino’s entrance is not necessarily the name on its licence. Online, the same distinction matters: a brand identifies the service you recognise, while a legal company may be responsible for the account. Begin with the operator named in the terms, then examine how that entity connects to the licensing record.

This hub brings together two kinds of reading. Company profiles examine a particular business, its documented casino connections and its licensing history. Licensing articles answer broader questions about checking records, regulatory differences and the limits of player protection. Choose the company when you have a name to investigate; choose the article when you need to understand a rule or process.

A profile’s inclusion is not a recommendation or an assertion that its company currently holds an active licence. Read its dated findings. The Curaçao Gaming Authority, or CGA, itself cautions that its published licence overviews do not guarantee present validity. A historical entry, a pending assessment and a current permission must retain their different meanings.

Keep other businesses in their stated roles. A payment company may handle transactions; a software supplier may provide the platform. Neither role alone establishes who operates the player’s account or who owns the casino. When several names appear in the terms, write down what each is said to do before trying to connect them.

Our casino review library approaches the question from the individual brand. It brings the operator findings together with that casino’s published account, game and payment information. Read a company profile for the wider business context and a review for the particular website. A conclusion about one domain should not automatically be carried across to another.

02 / Checking a licence

How to check a Curaçao casino licence

A useful check connects the exact website to the company and permission being claimed. Finding a similar business name is only part of the job. Start with the domain in your address bar, then save the operator’s licensing statement and the terms that identify the contracting company. Include the date so the evidence can be read in context later.

  1. Identify the claimed permission

Record the named company, regulator, licence reference and the domain being examined. Note whether the information comes from the footer, terms, certificate or another published page.

  2. Follow an official source

Use the regulator’s own website to locate its register or verification service. Check the destination of a certification link rather than trusting the appearance of a seal alone.

  3. Compare the material details

Read the entity, reference, status, dates, activities and domain scope where the official record supplies them. Preserve any missing or contradictory detail instead of completing the match by assumption.

  4. Record the result and its limits

Keep the source address and time of the check. Distinguish an active record you inspected from an old screenshot, an operator claim or a record you could not retrieve.

A certificate image is a claim you can investigate, not a completed verification. Check where a seal actually leads, whether the destination belongs to the authority and whether the record describes the website you started from. The detailed licence-check article above walks through this process; the overview here helps you decide which evidence to collect first.

03 / Reading the record

What a licence record actually tells you

A licensing record contains several separate answers. The entity field identifies a business, the permission describes an activity and the status places that permission in a particular state. Read them together. A correct company name does not resolve an unclear status, and a recent document date does not make every entry current.

What to record during a licensing check
FieldWhy it belongs in the record
Legal entityIdentifies the business named on the permission; retain the legal name rather than substituting the casino brand.
Licence reference and typeIdentifies the particular record and the permission described. A reference alone does not explain the covered activities.
Status and datesRetain the status wording, issue date, expiry field and publication date separately. Add the date of your own check.
Domain and activitiesConnects the specific website and service to the permission, where the record explicitly supplies that information.
Qualifications or restrictionsPreserves the limits of the record, including incomplete matches and any relevant published conditions.

A company registration and a gambling licence answer different questions. Registration information may help identify the entity, but it does not independently establish permission to provide gambling. Equally, a licence reference cannot tell you every business connected to a brand. Use each document for the claim it actually supports.

Separate the record’s issue date, its stated expiry and your own check date. “Checked today” should mean a real check was completed today; it should not be added because a page was redesigned or a paragraph was edited. A reader needs to know both what the record says and when the website last examined it.

Licence categories also matter. A permission related to supplying games or software should not automatically be read as permission to contract with players. Identify the activity described in the specific record and how it relates to the site being reviewed. Where the evidence does not establish that connection, the correct result is an unresolved question.

04 / Curaçao and the UKGC

Curaçao and UKGC licences: which market is covered?

For a reader in Great Britain, the key question is whether the operator holds the Gambling Commission permission needed to provide the relevant remote gambling service there. An overseas base does not remove that requirement. A Curaçao licence alone does not provide it, even if the website opens normally and offers a sterling account.

The Gambling Commission publishes its regulatory remit and a business register. Use the register to examine the operator’s status and licensed activities. Its domain information is supplied by businesses, so a listed address is one part of the evidence. Match it with the entity and relevant permission instead of treating any search result as sufficient.

Great Britain covers England, Scotland and Wales. Northern Ireland has a different position: the Commission says it does not regulate the provision of remote gambling there, while advertising remote gambling to its consumers requires a Commission licence. Do not turn that distinction into a claim that a particular Curaçao casino is permitted to serve Northern Ireland.

Separate three questions when reading a casino’s terms: what the operator says about your location, what its licence permits, and what protections apply to the service you would use. A website’s country selector answers none of those questions on its own. Nor does a statement that the casino accepts UK players establish the relevant regulatory permission.

Our Curaçao-versus-UKGC article examines those differences in more detail. Use it when you want to understand market scope, account safeguards or complaint arrangements. This hub is the starting point; it does not rank jurisdictions with a single score or treat all casinos holding the same type of licence as interchangeable.

05 / Licensing and safety

Is a Curaçao-licensed casino safe?

“Is a Curaçao licence safe?” contains several questions. The record may help establish who holds a permission and its stated status. A reader may also be asking whether an account is eligible, whether terms are clear, how a payment is handled or where a complaint can go. Those questions need their own evidence.

Start by verifying the claimed licensing connection. Then read the payment, verification, promotional and complaint terms. A matching record cannot supply an unpublished withdrawal limit or explain a conflicting bonus clause. Published conditions need to be read alongside the account’s actual eligibility and payment route.

Consider a withdrawal. A licence record does not tell you the account’s minimum cash-out amount, whether documents are outstanding, or when the bank will receive an approved payment. Those answers belong in the casino’s payment and verification terms, supplemented by transaction evidence where available. A published processing estimate and an observed completed withdrawal are different kinds of information.

For an example of how we organise these separate questions, the Rolletto review places licensing alongside account conditions and payment information. Read the scope and dates given there. The link is a route into the research, not an endorsement or confirmation that Rolletto is available in your location.

The same principle applies to reassuring design cues. A polished website, familiar payment logo or professional-looking certificate may make information easier to recognise, but each still needs to be connected to the relevant source. Read the substance of the claim before treating the presentation as evidence.

Account controls and support also deserve attention. Establish where limits, breaks or exclusion information is published and which service is responsible for a request. If the question concerns your ability to stop or control gambling, the responsible gambling page offers a separate starting point. Licensing research does not remove the risk of losing money through gambling.

06 / Changes and older records

Why older Curaçao licence records need a date

Licensing arrangements and company details can change. A review written under an earlier framework may contain a name, reference or relationship that needs rechecking before it can describe the current position. Retain the date and wording of an older record rather than treating its existence as proof that nothing has changed.

The CGA dates the start of the Landsverordening op de kansspelen, or LOK, to 24 December 2024. This is the National Ordinance on Games of Chance. Its explanation also identifies transitional relevance for the earlier LBH framework. A reform date therefore does not, by itself, tell you how a particular older licence should now be described.

A company-name change, replacement reference or amended domain record should have a documented explanation. Keep the previous observation and the new source together so readers can understand the sequence. Do not infer a transfer of responsibility merely because two pages look related or one old link now redirects elsewhere.

This is also why operator profiles should carry dated findings at the field level. A newly checked domain record does not automatically refresh a months-old statement about complaints or ownership. Updating the presentation of a profile and updating its evidence are different editorial actions.

07 / Complaints and follow-up

Complaints: identify the operator and the right route

Begin with the business’s published complaint procedure. Identify the contact channel, information requested, reference system and stated handling stages. Keep the relevant transaction or account issue precise: what happened, when it happened, which term is disputed and what response has already been received.

The CGA says it does not resolve individual player disputes, mediate them or order compensation. Information about a complaint can still inform its regulatory supervision. Reporting a possible breach and seeking a decision on money owed are therefore separate purposes; a regulator report should not be presented as a guaranteed recovery process.

Alternative dispute resolution, or ADR, also needs an operator-specific check. For example, eCOGRA offers dispute mediation to its relevant sealholders and sites that have engaged the service. Its existence does not mean every Curaçao casino is covered. Confirm the named provider, operator participation and the types of dispute accepted before sending documents.

Retain a timeline of messages and any relevant terms or screenshots. A missing response should be described with dates; an allegation should remain an allegation unless evidence establishes it. Where official warnings or enforcement records are relevant, read their exact entity, domain and scope before attaching them to a similarly named business.

CuraçaoCasino publishes editorial research. You can report a correction about a company connection or a statement on this site, but we cannot determine an account dispute or release a withdrawal. Include the affected article, the statement you question and a public source where available. Keep identity documents, account passwords and private payment details out of the message.

Your questions, answered

Is the casino brand always the licence holder?

The brand and legal company can have different names. Read the operator identified in the terms and compare it with the official licensing record. Keep separately named parent companies, payment processors and suppliers in their documented roles rather than treating every associated name as the operator.

Does a Curaçao licence cover gambling in Great Britain?

A Curaçao licence does not replace the Gambling Commission permission required to provide remote gambling to consumers in Great Britain. Check the relevant UKGC record separately. The ability to load a website or see a sterling account option does not establish that permission.

What if the official verification service is unavailable?

Record that the current check could not be completed. An earlier observation can remain as dated historical evidence, but it should not be presented as a fresh verification. Use the authority’s published alternative sources or updates where available, and preserve any unanswered status or domain question.

Does an active licence guarantee a successful withdrawal?

An active record describes a regulatory permission within its scope. The circumstances of a withdrawal require separate evidence about the account, terms and payment stages. Read those findings in the individual review and distinguish operator estimates from actual transaction observations.

Can one company be associated with several casino domains?

A company may be associated with more than one brand, but each domain connection needs evidence. A shared design, support phrase or software platform does not establish the relationship. Record what the official and operator sources actually connect, with the date and any qualifications.

Can the CGA order a casino to pay my withdrawal?

The CGA says it cannot decide individual player disputes or order compensation. A complaint may still provide information for regulatory supervision. Start with the operator’s complaint procedure and check any applicable independent dispute route; do not assume that a regulator report produces a payment decision.
